Private Accommodations

All of our private rooms are located in the main lodge building. We provide you with queen or double beds with shared washroom facilities. Each room is beautifully appointed and unique, as our circular construction leaves few square corners. You will feel well rested and relaxed in our clean and comfortable rooms, with the sounds of Hermitage creek outside your window.

Also available is our spacious Honeymoon Suite with a private ensuite attached.

WiFi

While we recommend you limit your time on-line while with us at Mountain Waters so that you get the most out of your experience, we do provide Wifi in the main lodge and common areas.

What To Bring

The climate in the West Kootenay Region has four distinct seasons. The summers are generally hot with July and August daytime temperatures often reaching 35C. Nighttime temperatures are cool and pleasant and the humidity is low. A heat pump provides cooling in the main lodge during the heat of the summer, and the cabins generally stay cool in the shade. The Nelson area is home to the inland temperate rain forest, and yet most of the yearly moisture falls between the end of October and the beginning of May. 

Increasingly, we find ourselves having to let go of the notion of “normal” weather. The effects of human caused climate change are making themselves felt here in the Kootenay’s, and what this means is that the weather is more unpredictable than it has been in the past. So bring clothing for hot weather, for cool weather and for everything in between.

CLOTHING

  • Warm clothing such as a fleece jacket or sweater
  • Comfortable walking pants
  • Sweatpants or Yoga pants
  • Bathing suit
  • Indoor shoes that slip on or off easily (optional)
  • Shawl or blanket for cool mornings in the meditation hall (optional)
  • Bring clothing for a range of different temperatures as we are in the mountains and conditions can quickly change from hot and sunny to cool and inclement overnight
